Default So i've got KR....

What could be causing it?
Some things you might want to know are:
I've got a 2.25" press bent DP(i got ripped off but i'm gettin headers this summer) and a small exhaust leak(false KR?)
my headgaskets are leaking oil not alot probably a half a quart between oil changes
i've got a 180 stat, plugs have 5k or less on them
my LT fuel trims at idle are 128/129 at cruise 128/130 and at WOT 130 sorry i forgot to read my WOT O2'*
i'm experiencing 0 KR at light throttle, 2-3 degrees during light acceleration, and 4-6 degrees during WOT
my IAC counts are at 19 i think ( i'm not too sure either it'* 9 or 19)
my idle is high like around 1250 and the desired idle on the scan tool is 1100 which is right because that'* what i had it programed to(pm if you want to discuss this)
my O2 is a Bosh and has about 6k on it<---i've read bad things about those but i got it for super cheap and nothing changed after i put it in
I've got a lifter bleeding down (flase KR?)
I've got a zzp high velocity upperintake insert installed using a paper gasket between the insert and the upper intake manifold and the stock gasket between the insert and the lower intake manifold. I'm not sure if the paper gasket is leaking or not.
and i think thats all the bad stuff.
so what do you guys think?

I think that your IAC counts a lil low......Does it change at all with the lights on?? Should go up one or two steps when you turn them on. I think that it should be up in the 30'*???? I think that'* what my mechanic had mentioned to me one night at the shop.

A bleeding down lifter can definantly be a part of the KR if it'* enough for the KS to hear.

My 2 cents.

If its your headgaskets leaking, then thats your problem right there. However, did you mean your valve cover gaskets?

If it was false KR it wouldn't change with ending load, so I doubt its the lifter unless of course the lifter gets louder with rpms, but it seems like there would be KR at idle with this... I'm thinking you might just be running too rich/lean or you have too much timing. If you don't already run higher than 87 octane, try running some 93 octane or so and see if the KR goes down. If it does, its real KR and its a fuel/air/timing issue. If it doesn't, its false and you need to look into the lifter and exhaust leaks, etc....

It'* defintely the head gaskets leaking, i can see it on the side. It would make sense that'* it but the car has been actin this way since before they were leaking. It its still a possibility. I'm runnin on 93 all the time too. I was thinking the exhaust leak possibly causing it because that gets louder with rising rpms.
What about a vac leak?

Sure it'* the head gaskets, and not the seal below the lower intake? Between the intake and block? Head gasket leaks are rare, and I know for a fact yours are fairly new.

If the head gaskets are leaking internally as well as externally, may I point out that oil causes detonation when introduced into the conbustion chamber?

Should show on the spark plugs, too.

And, uhh........

What is "KR?"

Knock retard, Bob. When the KS (knock) sensor detects knock, the PCM pulls timing. KR is expressed in degrees. For instance, in super hot weather here, I can get 10° of KR (losing 10° of timing) to prevent knock.

Thanks, Will.

Since oil causes detonation in the combustion chamber, it would seem new head gaskets are in order for the vehicle if the plugs are dark.

I'm sure the KS can't distinguish between detonation caused by oil rather than poor fuel quality.

will, while I gotcha on the line, what'* with the avatar? I've uploaded mine according to the instructions and it has yet to appear. Can you help?

I'll look agian to be sure but i'm pretty sure. I'm got MLS headgaskets and they have been known to fail...
But i'll check agian just for you.

Humm what do you mean when the lights are on? headlights?

When you turn your lights on it creates a draw on the alt and then engages the alt which puts a load on your motor......The IAC would have to open up a lil to keep the desired idle.
