high temp after rebuild
Today I started up the 94 after rebuilding the SC and putting on a new harmonic balancer. No more banging noises!!!! It started up just fine and seemed to run well and have much better throttle response. I cleaned out the throttle body and the insides of the SC. Anyways.... at first I just added coolant to the resevoir when putting all back together. The low coolant light came on and I drove the car like 2 miles tops. The temp guage was almost to the orange/red....about 240 I'd guess. I let it cool down and added some to the radiator. Is there anything I need to do here to make sure it'* flowing right and no air is in the system. The temp went up REALLY quickly...so I'm wondering if there was a problem w/ the water pump or t-stat???

There was probably a lot of air still in the coolant system. You should have had the car running, filling the radiator. When the thermo opens, it'll suck six inches worth of coolant out of the radiator, that'* when you should fill it up again. There is a bleeder valve on top the the thermostat housing. With the car running and at a temp that the thermo should be open, twist that little valve open and make sure a steady stream of coolant comes out. That will get all the air out.
