Splash Shield - When you work on your car
This is probably aimed more towardt the vets, but feel free to add.
When you have worked on your car and needed to pull the splash shield, did you put it back on or leave it off and please give a reason as to why you did either.
I pulled both mine off when working on it and left them off originally to monitor for leaks. Now I am considering whether or not to put them back on based on any advantages of having it in place.

I pull mine off when necessary (usually to drain the radiator).
I always put it back on when I'm done. I figure GM designed it and put it there for a reason. Therefore, I just put it back.

i keep it on because it actually helps, there was a time when i had it off and in hevay rain if i hit a big enough puddle it would cause the stereo to short out, i assume because of water hiting the battery altho notihng else would short out, anyway after putting it back on it hasnt happened

the splash shield is not just there to prevent water from spashing up.. it also helps direct airflow for aerodynamic purposes, also on many cars (not sure about the bonnie) it help to direct the air flowing through the radiator for more efficient cooling
