Whats wrong with my brakes?

Over the past couple days, my brake pedal has gone to mush, I can push it to the floor. The fluid is full and doesn't seem to be leaking. It seems at different times when I push the brakes, different brakes lock up, and others don't. For instance, I was testing on some gravel and one time the fronts didn't lock up but the rears did. Then another time all 4 locked up. I was then going down the road and it seemed like the passenger side only locked up when I hit the brakes, causing the car to want to "spin". What is going on? Sorry if their is any grammar errors, I am kinda tired.

edit- When the brakes started acting screwy earlier this week, it seemed to start as "touchy brakes". It was all or nothing.

Thanks,

Rob

well id say you definetely have all the symptoms of a failed master cylinder, plus a few extra weird ones...

are you getting any ABS lights at all? I would think if there was an ABS problem it would detect it.

But i would definetely start at a master cylinder, either that or air in the lines which is unlikely unless youve recently done any brake work that would involve having the lines loose?

Last year we had to replace all the brake lines, but that was quite some time ago. No lights either.

Well that wouldve been an oppurtunity for some air in the lines, but I would assume they were bled properly, and besides i think you wouldve noticed a problem a long time ago if thats what was causing the problem...it may be adding too it, but i dont think its the root of your problem

I think some other people will chime in here pretty soon.

definatly blown master cylinder. Make sure to bench bleed the master, then bleed the ABS pump by getting ABS to engage a few times on gravel and bleeding it.
