what year did they start putting access fuel pump panels in

:) Dealer told me that it was 1997 and up for Park Aves and 2000 and up for Lesabres and Pontiacs. He said there is a panel in the trunk with 7 screws that you lift and underneath is the sending unit and you can remove the fuel pump, great idea no more dropping the tank

Yeah, after seeing one of those I considered drilling a hole in my trunk to make my fuel pump swap easier.

Good question. I need to replace the pump in my car and dread dropping the tank.

Anyone know for sure?

It won't be there in your 99.

2000+ Bonnevilles have the access plate in the trunk to service the fuel sending unit.
On the years prior Bonnivilles you have to remove the fuel tank.
