Default Air Conditioner

Yes i have a 1996 ssei and the problem is that i put the a/c on and the sound it makes it seems like its running on high which it is but the air that comes out from the vents is very poor for a minute i thought it was the blower but its new and at night time it works a little better. Any sugestions on what should i check for?

I took it to a shop and they tell me that these cars by default the air condition on high dont run the same speed as others, i find that hard to believe. if i clean the evaporator like you said in your last document would it improve the air power through the vents? Please help so i can tell the guy in the shop to take it out and clean it thanks...

If your problem is a clogged evaporator, then it should work... However, I have found that my A/C blows quite a bit less than some other cars. You don't have to pull the whole evaporator to clean it, though. Check the techinfo article.

I checked the evaporator but it was clean i also added some gas which was a little low now its very cool, but still no power blowing through the vents. Any sugestions on what should i check? The mechanic tells me that the construction of the bonneville'* air conductors is very poor and there is nothing they can do.

Bah!!

Keep in mind that the ECC (I'm assuming you have) was not designed to blow hard, but to blow just enough for climate control, and is regulated to several vents by the HVAC programmer. Mine does the same thing, but is very cool in the cab in no time. It works swell!!

I can say that my A/C does not blow nearly as hard as my friend'* Altima. If you cleaned the evaporator per the procedure, the next thing you can do is compare it to another Bonneville.
