In a nutshell, quad drivers are a part of the ECM that provide negative outputs for such devices as relays and solenoids. Sometimes, they can be tricky to figure out because the codes don't tell you exactly what circuit os at fault. The causes for a quad driver error incluse faulty ECM, wire shorted, solenoid or relay shorted. Luckily, you have a spare ECM... this will help out quite a bit if you trust the replacement. Since you've tried the replacement and are still having a problem, my next thought would be the EGR valve but don't just go replacing that until there'* further info.

I no longer have my 93 manual so someone else will have to tell us what circuits are monitored by the quad A

Ok here is an update...I just drove it for about 45min and for the first 15 min it was fine, Then with the cruise set at 58mph it acted like someone shut the cruise off! ses light blinked every few seconds for about 4 blinks. after slowing to around 42mph car resumed cruise and sped back up to 58mph on it'* own. so I pull over to listen for noises put it in park and it wants to rev and stay at 2000 rpm! I shut key off, restart and rpms are normal. So I drove it like I stole it for about 5 min (dead stop to 100mph full throttle a few times) exhaust stinks, but clears up after that. I drove it for about 25 min after that no ses, no problems. could this be a carbon build up problem? Also when the car is warm when I first start it, it runs rough and rpm'* seem low like 500rpm is this normal? could this be a tps problem? I could use a bunch of help here guys!

yes this is a VERY important question.

God only knows what a car will do with the wrong PCM, sort of like putting apple parts in a pc or vice versa here.

if it is not the ECM that is playing games here, I would be looking at the other critical sensors.

The pcm is the same part # as last one and I swaped prom chips. I also noticed today my traction control is not working. :? Could a faulty tps be the problem?
