Help with part number/name if you can
Hi All:
'95 SE and I had the UIM and LIM replaced 3 weeks ago. Also had new plugs, wires, and a bad headlight switch replaced. Car runs fine, but I'm loosing coolant from the overflow, which led me to have the UIM and LIM replaced.
Upon closer insepction, I see a drip from what is described as the water tube from the lower manifold. I think it is threaded on each end with and has o-rings. This is leaking (externally) and won't seal.
What is it called and can you help with a part number? Mechanic says I won't have coolant leaking internally with this problem.
Thanks,
-Jay

It'* the coolant elbow. Go to the dealer and point to it on their computer parts breakdown.
Unfortunately for you, there'* quite a bit of disassembly involved. Including new LIM and UIM gaskets.
Is it a black L shaped tube? From the accessory bracket to the LIM? It isn't threaded. It'* only 0-ringed.

To change the coolant elbow you only need to remove the alternator and accessory bracket. If I hadn't goofed up an o ring this would have taken me under 45 min in Bandits cold garage.

I wasn't sure if the '95 could also be done that way, but I know 99+ can. A relatively quick and easy job. Your mechanic is correct in that it just leaks externally.

OK guys, thanks a million.
I got the part today at lunch, and we'll get it in this weekend. I feel better knowing the labor is reasonable, but most of all very happy there is no internal leak.
I'm at 164K now, and plan to give it to my son at Xmas, and will be looking for a replacement for it soon.
