Taking off imblums..
Hey i want to take the " Bonneville " Patch off of my trunk. I heard they are just glued on..but how would i go about taking them off and not chipping paint or distorting anything?

Not glued, but there'* an adhesive foam pad between the emblem and the car. Tricky taking them off. Warm them up with a blow dryer, then carefully start prying on it, working all the way around. Make sure you use a soft rag at the leverage points!
Then just use some rubbing alcohol on a rag to clean up the leftover adhesive.

are there any side affects? Do you think the paint could have warped underneath there the past couple years? So i just heat it up with a blow dryer and start pulling it off with a wet towel?

Not a wet towel. You want to keep it warm. I can't gaurantee what your paint looks like underneath. You're at least going to need to use polishing compound when you're done.

My humble but honest opinion is leave it on. With the lighter collar paints you might end up with a two tone deck lid. as the paint underneath hasn't faded as much as the rest of your car.

Damn, i was hoping you guys wouldn't talk me out of it. What if i were to take them off and if it looked back i'd paint the imblum chrome or something. What type of epoxy or whatever would i use to put them back on? Would it be efficient?

3M body and trim tape. Gray color, with red backing strip. Local body shop. Put it on the back and trim it up, then peel off the backing and stick it on. Won't go anywhere. That'* the stuff they use for ventshades. I use the same tape to hold 2 aftermarket cupholders to my center console. One on each side. They hold Big Gulps at .75 G'*.

But again, I think removing the badge would look like merde if you did it on an older car, due to the fading factor.

There is a medical product called "Detachall" that you can purchase from any home healthcare store (the places that sell Oxygen to people who have emphazeema (sp?) and wheelchairs to those who need them. It is used to remove surgical tape from skin. It is safe for paint and it is very effective in removing adhesives (I use it to remove those pesky automotive dealer decals and stickons form any car I buy). It is less than $5.00 and a little goes a long way. There may be other products with different names--the home medical companies will be able to help you if you describe it as an adhesive remover for surgical tape.
As for removing your badging, you will notice that the paint under the emblems has not faded. There is no getting around this. over time, it will fade enough to ALMOST match the rest of your paint.
I am a purist, I wouldn't remove them unless I were shaving the whole vehicle--which is very unlikely.
Hope this helps.
