Ok, here'* my issue. I noticed the smell of gas the other day and popped the hood with the car on. Gas was spraying from the fuel hose that runs gas into the fuel rail. Apparently the part has been discontinued from GM so i had to order it from an out of town dealer that luckily had it in stock. My problem is: the old fuel hose has these quick disconnect connections, but the new hose i got only has these simple rubber unions?? They are on the ends of the hose pretty tight so i don't think they will leak, but i'm not so sure how well they will go on the steel ends for the fuel rail at one end and the hard lines at the other end?

Does anyone have any clarification? I'm borrowing a friends car for now so i'm not driving (seems to be a little dangerous driving around with gas leaking all over the engine...) I'm planning on fixing the problem on Saturday morning because i'm giving the car back friday night. I did some searches on the forum, but only found info on replacing the o-rings in the connectors so didn't really help me. Thanks everyone!!

This is the old connection on the car. This is the connection from the fuel hose to the fuel rail (bringing fuel to the engine). It'* like a quick disconnect. There are 2 white tabs on the bottom of the connector that you squeeze together to disconnect it.

The white tape was just to keep the gas from spraying. It just dripped instead...

There is a repair kit available, from Dorman I think, that has a quick connector end that you attach to the press-fit end of that new fuel hose. It should be available at your local Advance or AutoZone. I've not bought one, but I know they exist.

Tough to tell, that hose you have looks like the evap vent hose. Do those actually connect and make a good connection that doesn't shower the area with fuel?

Don (jr's3800) had to do the fix on his '95, using a similar connection, Bill. It seems to be fuel tight so far. It connects to a barbed male end.

I'll try to roust him up and see where exactly he got the repair kit.
