Water woes
 

I'm having a severe leakage issue!

Water is damn near pouring in at the driver's door seal. It's so bad that water has saturated the headliner. Today was a very heavy rain day. As a result, the water has started to delaminate the headliner. :roll: And the driver's seat is soaked.

What's the best way to fix this? I pulled the weatherstripping back and it was loaded with water. The glue is pretty much non-existant. I'm thinking of just buying a whole new weather stripping and gluing it in place with Goop. Feasible?

I'm thinking new, live rubber will correct the issue. I don't have the FSM with me, so can someone tell me the part number that I should order (if this is the right plan of attack)?

yes it solved all my problems

I resealed all my weather stripping with 3M weatherstrip adhesive...I'm pretty sure it solved my rear water problem.. . All my seals had shrunk atleast 1/2 an inch. I took a chunk of weather strip from boosty when I was there, so I made the correct size spacer to fit in the gap.

I would suggest picking up some 3m weather strip adhesive

I will pick some up and reglue it. I'll let it dry out real well first.

while picking it up, get some 3M weather strip adhesive remover. if it is the small can, get 2. (you can always return it).

Remove the weather stripping, run a rag through there to get the big dirt out, then get some of the adhesive remove on a paper towel and run it in the grove where the adhesive will go. you will need to get a new part of the paper towel and re-wet about 1/2 way through (or when dirty). Also, use that stuff to clean where the door seal sits. It remove wax and oils but wont hurt paint unless you soak the paint for long periods of time.

Once everything is clean, glue it up. If you can snag another person it would make the whole thing a lot easier to put back on

that is about how much weatherstripping I added.

but I have less dirt on the inside :lol:
