Very annoying rattle underneath car

About a week after I got my new exhaust on, underneath my car (at least that is what I pressume) startled to rattle whenever I would step on the gas in the 1-3k RPM range. Something rattles whenever the gas is pressed. It also only happens whenever the car has been running for 10 minutes and things start to heat up. I tried recreating the noise while in park and in neutral in my drive way but it would never happen while stationary. A SES light came on for a day then went off and never came on again, but this was 3 weeks ago. It runs out fine but just really annoying because I hear it over my muffler. Any suggestions what I should do? I allready crawled underneath it and messed with pieces to see if something came loose, but it has not.[/i]

give your cat a firm smack and listen to it... Also check to make sure everything is like two inches from everthing else... Maybe when you romp it, The engine rotates, The exhaust gets pulled to the front of the car, The muffler hits the heat sheid, You go nuts looking for a rattle.....

I let my father drive it while I listened for it. When I was in the passenger seat I put my hand to the floor and felt something directly underneath me. That is where all my attention has been since then. By 2 inches what do you mean?

Your exhaust pipes two inches from the car or so, just check to make sure that the clearance along the length of the car doesn't change and that things have room to move. Maybe one of your pipes got bent up or forwards and is tapping the bodywork somewhere.

When they did the exhaust, what did they do for hangers.

that's what i would wonder about too.

Hangers, or a bolt that's just loose enough for the heat to affect how it holds.
