Default 1996 SSE A/C Clutch

Hi guys,

Can someone tell me if the clutch on my AC compressor can be changed without removing it from the car? I would prefer to do it on the vehicle if thats possible, as a new condensor was installed not too long ago, and the system was recharged at the same time.

My local mechanic suggests replacing the compressor entirely $$$ :( in stead of just replacing the clutch.

Thanks for any advise

If there'* enough room to get in there with a clutch puller, I'd say yes. However, this is not very likely... I just looked at my 99 SSEi and I couldn't imagine doing it while it'* still on the vehicle. There just isn't enough room to get the puller in there from what I can see
