Still have car at the transmission shop they still say it is an electrical problem that is keeping first & second gear from working.They are convinced it is the ECM because when they manually ground the selenoid at the ECM all the gears are there.I tried a rebuilt computer but the car still tried to take off in 3rd so I don't think two computers would both be bad or have the same problem.What about the prom, could it be the problem? The rebuilt computers don't come with one so you have to reuse the original.I have found a 1993 computer with prom at a salvage yard,is there any markings that would tell me if they are compatible? It could also be the wiring harness. Where are they grounding the solenoid? At the transmission plug or at the PCM side?

Sorry missed your question been pushing snow.They say they are checking at the PCM. They have another rebuilt PCM to try Monday, if it doesn't work then I will take it home go to the salvage yard and try one from a 1993 with its prom chip since prom'* are no longer available from GM. I really don't know if the prom can cause this but I am pretty sure the PCM itself is good after three don't fix it I will be sure.

Got the car back today and tried the ECM from a 1993 Lasabre the yards book showed it being compatible, but the prom number was not the same the car started but died.I tried the yard ECM with my prom ran fine but still just third overdrive and reverse.I have been reading WEAD'* posts and answers are the 1995'* a lot different than the 1992? How about the diagram are they close some of the answers sounded close to what I'm going through.
