Well, today starts the teardown to do my timing chain. I already have the accessory bracket off. Let me list what I think needs to come off, to get the timing cover off. If I am missing anything, let me know, so I don't screw up.

TAM
Water pump pulley/water pump
Heater core pipes
LIM coolant hose to top of timing cover
Lower radiator hose
Oil cooler lines, oil pressure sender, oil filter adaptor
Harmonic balancer
Crank sensor and bracket

Does this sound like everything? Let me know! I am starting around 4:00.

Ok, I got the bolt out of the TAM, engine is jacked up, but how in the heck do I separate it? :?

You gotta loosen the frame half of the mount up to finagle the two halves just right. Take a trip to Lowes or somewhere with the TAM block stud and get a grade 8 plt of matching thread and length. And maybe a good washer to match. You'll thank yourself when putting the TAM back on and next time you need to remove it.

I can't get it off. I am twisting and turning it every way possible, and it is just not coming off.

you have to remove all 4, 15mm bolts on the fender side and the 3 18mm bolts on the engine side. then jack the engine up high enough, and it will come right out.

oh and reading that you are doing the op and tc, i would leave the op till last.

DO NOT do the oli pan first.

WHEE! I got out by jacking the engine up. Popped right out. Got the waterpump off, and YUCK! it'* a stamped impeller. I am definitely ordering a cast impeller one.

Up next..... Oil cooler lines, sender, oil filter adaptor, and then HB.

Quick!!! What size is the harmonic balance bolt? 21mm? My dad is leaving, and he is gonna pick one up.

Anyone? I am leaving in about 5 mins, and need to know. I measured and it looks to be a little under a inch.

I couldn't just find my socket that I bought for mine, but 24mm rings a bell.
