Troubles starting

I have a 1992 SSEI and after i have been driving my car for awhile and even when it has been sitting over night it takes a few times to turn over like it cranks about 5/6 times to start and always start so i was wondering what could be the problem? ok thanx for you time

Is the Service Engine Soon light on? How well has the car been kept care of?

I would suspect fuel pressure is the problem.

I agree, if it is just the first start in the morning after it has been sitting then it is probably a loss of fuel pressure. First off, is there a smell of fuel from a leak anywhere? If not, the next morning, go under the hood on the fuel rail with a small phillips srew driver or something similar. Locate the schraeder valve on the rail (looks like a tire air valve) pull the cap off and press down on the valve with the screwdriver. If no fuel sprays out then your problem lays within there. When you get into the vehicle put the key in the ignition and turn it to run (not start, do not start it) for 5 seconds then turn it to off and then back to run again. Repeat 4 times total. The fuel pump charges the system when it is put to run for a few seconds. Start now. It should start normally. External fuel leaks, bad fuel pressure regulator or check valve within the fuel pump are commonly the causes.

Hey no the service engine light is not on and i just got the car in november and an older man had it and was keeped care of pretty well ans also when runing it kind of idles a little wierd like it can't keep a normal idle some times i can but most of the time it can't. I will check the fuel pressure

Go ahead and put your Year and Trim level in your signature. The Fuel Pressure should be around 37-40PSI
