Transmition pan woes!!

I finally got my car running great, went to wash the engine bay out,on the way home I went a different route and the road had sunk in one spot.I did not see it in time(was too busy checking gages  ) well the bump was severe enough too scrape my tranny pan.I did not notice the leak until I moved the car in the garage.I looked and the pan is pushed in a little on the front passenger side and there is a small hole.I am going to have to pull it off.Do you think it will be ok to straighten it out and have it welded? Probably just as easy to go to the u pull it and get another one. I would have fear in the pan sealing surface being bent or warped once you pulled it off. If you have another pan there you won't have to wait.

Also might as well do the filter while you are there.

You know I was going to add that as another option, just so mad about this happening now I forgot.I will go to the yard and get one, they have a 92 SSEI and a 92 SSE,so I will have a selection  Tim

This is a very common fix. Simply take it into any shop after you have pounded it flat and have the hole brazed. It will be a permanent fix.

You could even have a drain plug welded in at the same time.

I got one at a yard for 15 bucks.I am going to install a drain plug on the old one and have the leak braized.I needed to get this car rolling right away.My 92 SE is in desperate need of tranny work.I got a quote from the yard of $250 for a tranny and he also said he would hook me up with a tranny shop to put it in for me for $150.I think I am going to do it soon, the price is right and the tranny has been driven and tested and he told me the cars odometer had 86,000 on it.
