99 Bonneville sle egr

VIN 8th digit K.
I just replaced the egr valve on my 99 Bonney and noticed there was a small (looks like a grease fitting type) tube below the egr valve. What is this and are there suppolsed to be any vac lines going to the unit?

Yeah, a picture would help. I'm working on replacing my LIM gasket for preventative maintenance, so I took a look while it was easier to see. Sorry, I couldn't find what you're describing.
