Monroe quick strut
Hey,
I was hoping to get your guys opinion on the Monroe Quick Struts, I am going to replace my front old struts and springs on my 1994 Bonneville SE which are long overdue and I thought this looked like the best route to take. Does anyone know the pro'* and con'*, other than they are supposed to be very easy to install

I just ordered a pair from Rockauto and used the discount code Toddster - sweet deal!
From everything I've read about them they make a great OEM replacement and they are 1/3 the cost of OEM'*. Which makes it that much more sweeter.

I think I am just going to get them at my local shop. To ship them to Canada, and with the exchange rate it'* only $20 less. I think it would be less of a hassle to just buy local. I am glad you guys approve of the struts if everything goes as planned I will be installing them this weekend, it will be my first time doing my struts. Any tips or tricks I should know of, I have a Haynes manual and have researched it a lot these past couple weeks.

Just take your time and torque accordingly. I would strongly suggest that you get the front end alignment checked and adjusted if needed when you are done. Let us know how things work out.

Quick struts are nice. Easiser than swapping springs over.
There'* one thing to consider though. If you have FE1 suspension it'* a green light, do it. If you have FE2 suspension it'* a red light.
The quick struts are assembled with standard springs. They do not change in part number from SE to SSEi and that is a stop sign to me. The spring rates in SE vs SSEi are different.
Sorry Kevin.

It is true, we do say EH? a lot (both capitals because we use an upward inflection, lol )
FE1....That is a non air ride suspension from what I gathered from other posts. I saw a picture on a post that shows where to check in your trunk on top of the strut. If I have an FE2 suspension is there any companies that make a "quick strut" equivalent?

i used monroe quick struts on my alero after a spring broke and i was very happy with them. call and find out if they have an equivilant for the FE2 suspension. if they do, go for it because they're easy to do and you'll save money.
