First of, I love this site, I tell everyone about it that drives Bonnevilles. I actually saw this guy once driving in town, followed him to Tim Hortons (coffee shop) just to talk to him and tell him about this site!

Okay, so I am planning on replacing my supercharger. I found one locally from someone who has a spare, thanks Peterg22000 if you read this! Is there any tips I should know about when removing my SC. I am going to put new oil in it. I am going to replace the SC gasket, and the injector O-rings. So, anything else.

My car has 229,000 km on it. I think LIM gasket is leaking. I guess it would be easier to do while I have the SC off! How much more work after you get the SC is it to get down to the LIM gasket, and what other parts would I have to buy to replace on the way back up!

I have a friend with a shop, and we have done all the work on this car together, but him and I have no experince with SC'*.

I know you guys say BOSCH is bad in these cars, what do recommend that I use, what name brand, for my wires and coils. I know AC DELCO is good, but have you guys found anything better.

I love my bonnevile, it'* my second one. I will drive this car, and fix this car till the day the body falls apart, but I rust proof it every year, so by the time I am done with it, it will be a classic.

Well I've got a N/A so I can't comment on your supercharger questions. I know a lot of people prefer Belden Premium wires (blue ones from NAPA), and they tend to use MSD coils (Red). If you're gonna get MSD coils, you might as well just get MSD wires as well. They're used by a few members here, I believe, and they'd match the coils better. lol

DONT use taylor wires, go with the beldens from napa. im sure others will chime in on the problems theyve had.

Would you choose those wires over the AC delcos?

You don't need aftermarket coils. If your OE ones are working, then you're fine.

NGK is a trusted name here, as is Autolite and Delco.

And for wires, Napa Belden, Autolite Pro and Delco are the three I personally trust.

Something in my mind is telling my Taylor is bad, something I read somewhere, but can't confirm.

As far as the supercharger and LIM gasket replacement goes, I highly suggest you look into acquiring a Factory Service Manual for your car. Check eBay for them. You can also get a new one from Helm. If you plan to do things like this yourself, this is the book you need, you wont know what you ever did without it.

Also, it should be noted, if you're going to replace your oxygen sensor, which might need replacing if you haven't done it before, ONLY use delco, or denso, denso only as a last second.

1) honestly, how much more work is it to reach the LIM gasket after the SC is off!!??

2) If anyone on here knows about cleaning your MAF. I bought the product made by CRC and it comes in a huge can. Okay, should I use the whole can?

Why are you replacing the supercharger?

I am replacing it because one it leaks, and the other there is play in the pulley!!! I am the type of person who likes to fix things before there is a problem!!

You don't need a new or rebuilt supercharger. You only need a $25 coupler, some sealant, supercharger oil, a few o-rings, and a SC gasket.

Superchargers RARELY (stress on R A R E L E Y ) go bad to the point of replacement.
