Trans cooler?
I just got a Bonneville Se with 56000 org on it. This may sound stupid but can u get the Trans cooler at Auto Zone? And is it hard to install?

Any tranny cooler will work. Try to get one the same physical size as a stock cooler on an SSE or SSEi. Mount it in the same location. Get a black one or it will look funny.
What year is your car? The instructions that come with the cooler are easy to follow. Any questions you have we can talk you through. Are you changing to a 180° thermostat at the same time? |

When you get your cooler, the instructions will tell you how to tell which are the pressure and return lines for the transaxle. Ignore that part. You'll be connecting the cooler to the transmission lines at the top of the radiator on the passenger side. Mount the cooler in front of the radiator on the passenger side. This is the same location as stock SSE's and SSEi's. Because I had a stock cooler already there, and added another, things got kinda tight with the hoses. I found it much easier to remove the headlight while working on routing the hoses. You may or may not have to do this for an SE.
Make sure to check your tranny fluid level after adding the cooler. |
