tstat installation
ok i installed the new tstat today and i didnt drain the coolant so it got all over the place but i got a new o ring and gasket and put it all in and scraped the old one away put it back together and i might have got a little piece of the old one like tiny piece of it in the coolant is that bad? ummm and when i started the car up for a little bit smoke was coming off of the engine is that jus the coolant burning up? also i took it out for a little drive and it doenst smoke anymore but the oil pressure gauge is going pretty high when i press the gas like more than normal....when im idleing it sits at 40 in the middle and then when i press the gas a little it goes up to in between 40 and 120 and when i floor it it goes to like 120 this cant be good....please someone help me!!

A small piece of gasket material in the hole won't hurt too much, but it could jam the Tstat open if large enough, or block a passage. That could have either a cooling effect or a warming effect. That'* why I stuff a clean rag in the hole before scraping. If you suspect something, you may want to try flushing the system yourself, or having it done.
As far as the oil pressure is concerned, I don't see how it could be related. Even the sending unit is quite far from where you were working (impossible to have tweaked it or a wire). What was your oil pressure before the change?
I'm running a drilled 180, and noticed no difference.

my oil pressure was fine when i installed it i have never seen it get up to 120 b4, i dont think its realted but i think that the coolant thing is ok too it wasnt that big....and whats a drilled 180 tstat?
