Tranny went out..

There's no first gear, no matter what. Starts out in second. Struggles. There's a slight hissing coming from the transmission when you go to go. It won't go into first even when it's switched into lowest gear on the console shift lever either.. What's your suggestion as to the cure to the problem, or what the problem could be?

PS, i just checked fluid levels with trans and engine warm, fluid is at correct operating level.

Unfortunately, with an auto tranny, you're kinda screwed. Lot's of money to fix, or replace it.

my 94 olds did this...however it fixed itself shortly after and the problem never came back.

You made it happen...you tell us..

I'd think there was a "technical difficulty" aka.. something that can't easliy be explained.

Check your fluid. What's it look like? That's the first thing to check when it screws up when hot, but not cold.

Ahhhh the ghost problems dont just happen to me.Every once in awhile mine will shift REALLY hard and whine like crazy. Then all of a sudden its gone...it does it every blue moon

Sounds like a "hiccup". Might never come back. But, for a while anyway, I wouldn't go anywhere in her you can't easily get back from.

I would also look into at least a tranny fluid/filter change. That will replace about a third to a half of your current fluid (could help). Plus, you'll be able to see what kind of debris is in the pan (hopefully stuck to the magnet)

I would say to think about a flush, but personally I'd rather see the fluid for myself.
