CLEANING FUEL INJECTORS
Thanks to everyone who responded to my last posting. In a few days I will be replacing my intake manifold on my 95 se, it has 190k miles on it. I'm hoping it'* just gaskets but I won't know until I take it apart.
Anything special I should know about tearing it apart and putting it back together?
Would you bother tearing off the heads and replacing the head gasgets? I will be replacing the o-rings on the injectors ... Is there any way to clean them up or test them? I was planning to soak them overnight in injector cleaner and than try to clean them up by hand. Will this hurt anything?? Should I clean the throttle body??
Is there anything else I should be replacing while I have it apart this far??
In the spring, I plan to replace the timing chain, oil pump, and oil pan gasket. I'm trying to make this car last for a long time since it'* my every day driver.
Any advice will be appreciated ....
This is a great site and I've learned alot from many of you. Thanks.

Re: CLEANING FUEL INJECTORS
If you don't have any indication of head gasket failure, leave the heads alone. They should be fine. Replace the o-rings for sure, and yes, soaking them should be fine. Be careful not to dislodge any chunks into the nozzle that may plug them up.
Yes, you should also clean the throttle body, but remove the maf sensor first, and use an 'intake safe' cleaner, not carb cleaner. A toothbrush may come in handy, too.
Now would be a good time to change to a 180° thermostat, too.

Definitley do not go down to the heads unless there is a head gasket failure. those things are a B**** to change . And like willwren said clean the throttle body, take out the maf screen AND the maf sensor. DON'T get any cleaner on the maf sensor. Those things are tempermental.
