Tranny problem
 

Ok guys/gals this is the tranny mystery. The car was driving perfect all the time. No slipping, jerking etc. I went to my friend’s house. Few hours later I put in drive and take off. The car jerked three times as if I was driving a 5speed and not feathering the clutch. After it would do that it would drive fine until I would accelerate from a slow speed or a complete stop. After few minutes of driving the car would feel like it has no power. I would have to rev 4K and more just to drive or take off. Eventually it completely stopped and I could rev all I want. The interesting part of this problem is when I shut off the car wait 5 sec and put back into drive the car would drive good again for maybe 2 blocks. It would shift fine and wouldn’t even jerk anymore. Once it stops driving the engine will run perfectly but I can shift into any position and have the car just rev in one place. I was thinking that the valve body might be damaged but I could be wrong. I really need help cause I commute to work everyday and now I spend a lot of money on taxis. Thanks in advance.

I'm smelling a shot torque converter. Typical symptoms after warming up that your TC is slipping like a bad dog. You need to get a scantool on the car while driving it under light throttle. Watch the shifts, watch the TC slip.

What about the old TCC problem Wil?

The lockup only comes into play above 48mph. The TC is just slipping altogether by his symptoms. Every gear, every speed when it's hot. That's slipping. A tranny flush MIGHT buy some time. What does the fluid look/smell like (don't taste it ;) )?

At this point the more you drive it the more harm.
What is your fluid level? A flush is a good idea, when was the last time the tranny was serviced?
