ABS/ Traction Off lights
Hello all,
I was driving in the rain yesterday, and spun one of the front wheels accelerating while turning right. Heard the traction control and ABS kick in. Then the ABS and Traction Off idiot lights came on. What did I break?

usually an ABS wheel sensor has gone bad or got dirt in it. The only place that can tell you is a dealer, that have a scantool to read the ABS codes (its a different code reader to the regular one Autozone uses).
So I had the same thing, paid $80 for them to read the codes to tell me that my front left wheel speed sensor was bad and I had to replace the hole bearing assy. Something like $400. So I laughed and left. I read about how these sensors can get dirty and not work properly. I cleaned them with a high pressure cleaner (just got behind the wheels and blasted away) and it fixed the problem.
Hope that may help.

I have had the same problem. Where are these sensors located as I am sure it is simply dirt. The only time it goes on is in the winter when my car getes caked with slush sand and salt.

i dont know the exact location of the sensor, but I took it to one of the self serve high pressure car washes. Blasted behind the wheel with soapy water and then wheel cleaner. I drove out and it didnt fail again for 2 days, and then only once. I took it through the automatic wash and paid $1 more for the underbody wash, and it hasnt failed since.
That was a long time ago. All in all, probably paid about $10 for the 2 washes (fixed the problem and I got my car washed at the same time )
