ok I have a bank one too lean code continually coming up, IT is the only code.
I made sure the gas cap was on and have replaced the oxygen sensor
what else could this be?

btw the O2 sensor was a BorgWarner I used

It seems that when I had that code, I swapped the O2 and I was good.

How old is the O2 and how many miles are on it?

The O2 is working properly. The O2 is reading a lean condition. Before you replace it..I'll give you my paypal account if you are planning on handing out money.

You need to check your battery cables. All connections at all ends and PLEASE look under the boots. Failure to do so will continue to leave you with a P0171. Searching the club on that code....you'll find my own and many others experience with the code.

So far it'* been 100% related to battery or battery cables.

Some other things to look for before spending money:

1) Is the fuel filter clogged; restricted?
2) Do you have a vac. leak? Even a small one (ex: cracked vac line) can cause this code. A slightly higher than normal idle can be a sign of this.

And after cleaning the battery cables (remove the boots to do it), make sure the O2 harness isn't touching a spark plug wire.

ok ill try and get out and look for vac leaks and ill check the battery cables
j/w how can battery cables cause the car to run lean?

the car is not actually running lean....because the MAF, and the 02, etc are electrical components, becuse of a weak connection the sensors are reporting the incorrect info to the PCM, and that throws the code

Not 100% sure how the connection makes it do it. Here'* what I do know. When you have a bad electrical connection on our cars..you can have many symptoms.

The Lean Bank One code is my personal nemisis. (came back for a visit last night and I tightened my battery cable that had loosened up). The code is generated when the PCM notices the O2 telling the PCM about a lean condition that requires the PCM to richen the fueling above expected tolerances. The PCM then posts the code, two consecutive cycles where the code is posted and the MIL illuminates. 3 Consectutive good run cycles and the light will turn off.

After much searching and torturing my self with checking and replacing sensors etc...I ended up talking to Foghorn. He mentioned this code and having to do with a bad ground at the block from the battery. I instantly went to that and found cleaning connections helped. Not 100% fix though. After changing all my battery cables, I've been P0171 free until last night when my positive cable was loose.
