unusual temp?
hey, i have noticed that when i drive my 93 ssei my temp gauge goes to the first line about the 200 mark, im guessing about 215 220, but i noticed on my friends 93 se his gauge even when he guns it never goes above 200, it usually sits im guessing at 190, and when i got my water pump replaced even my long trusted auto shop said, is this right, the temp gauge wont come back down, what does it usually run at, and i said yea that first line is good, so to make a long story short i was wondering if this was normal to have a higher temp then my friends with the 93 se, thanks

Just drain the coolant level a bit, unplug, remove old one, put thread tape on new one, thread in and tighten, plug back in and top off coolant. I'll have to do a detailed write up this week.

on my 94 with the stock 195 thermostat at idle sittin still it WOULD actually get to 210-220... my mother went nuts when she drove it, thought it was overheating. Said it would drop to center at 200 on the highway but in town was almost to the 210 mark and sitting would bump to 215-220 depending.
Changed to a 180* thermostat, from O'riellys and she dont even hit the center line at red lights hehe might give that a shot... was less than 10 bux for it and the gasket
