EGR Tube
New to the forum, looks like a plethora of information.
Anyone no of where I can get an EGR tube (connects to the intake manifold) for a 1993 Bonneville (3.8L) engine? My mechanic says even dealer doesn't stock item because it is no longer manufactured for this engine. After a couple of back-fires through the EGR, this tutbe needs to be replaced. Thanks for any info.

OK, I had to do some digging, but I did find this. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0
Not a great price. Might try salvage yard, but make sure you inspect the tube for cracks. I have a few tubes here but they are off a series2.

Mechanic recommended replacement but he kind of shoved it back in there but said it was definitely a temporary fix. Recommended going to a junk yard and pulling one.

Thanks Danthurs for the link. I think I'll try a pull-a-part/junkyard first and if not, I'll order one from the link you sent. Yes, I do have a Series 1/SLE. Still a great engine, 294,715 miles and still strong and my daily driver. I drive roughly 50miles total/day, 5 days a week, very comfortable, everything still pretty much works, even the air. However, I do think it might need a slight charge but it'* never been worked on in 17 years. I've got a 30lb tank of R12 from Dupont before the EPA put such regulations on it and some gauges, I might try to top it off this summer. I don't suspect a leak as it still gets cold, just not as cold when it'* really hot and humid.
Again, thanks for all your quick responses. It'* greatly appreciated.
