Tips and Tricks?

I bought two new gator backs tonight, and that idler pulley located BEHIND the Tourque Axis mount...changing that pulley...do it from above or below?
That entire mount will come out, but there is 4 bolts holding it in im sure, and i know to block the trans so it doesnt tilt downward..( i did the Waterpump on my first ssei)...
Any other tips..?

Best tip I can give you is if you don't need to change it.. hang in for a little, get all the pulleys and change them all.

The engine needs to be jacked up, the mount needs to be removed.

This means you need to remove the power steering pump, WP pulley (I think) and the torque axis mount.

I changed all the pulleys (except 1 (easy to do) when I did the waterpump. PM'ing Travis for his input.

BTW...welcome to Series 2. Our engineers were :bcrazy:

The accessory bracket has to be removed to take that ONE freaking idler off?
I have changed all the other pulleys already too..that pulley is grooved hardcore, and the belt is glazed from slipping..

No..the torque axis mount. Not the accessory bracket.

Yes, the PS pulley does need to be removed. The third leg of the bracket sits behind it

Its a 4 hr job. Have plenty of beer and patience. And again, Bill makes a great point change all pulleys at once. The frist one for the blower that sits right in the bracket--seems go go out more than the other ones.

Wow, I'm glad they changed the design. My belt takes 2 minutes to change. :P
