Default DLING DLING, DLING DLING, need help! ;( GELING DLING DLING

Wow, PLEASE, this start to get really annoying...

Every 7 to 20 seconds, I get the sound alert noise, the one you heard when some problem light appear... The thing is, nothing appear new... Everything look ok (except my abs light)

Also, when I start the car, not all the problem light goes on, but I can't really remember perfectly if they should all go up or only some of them...

I don't really have any more info, but please heh... any idea would be GREATLY appreciate...

Btw, it'* a bonneville sse 1992

Thanks!
Eric

It sounds to me like your Warning light module may be acting up! This unit has an audible chime (That ringing in your ears BTW) that goes off under certain situations. After a time, this unit will fail & constantly "chime" away until you either kill yourself or get it fixed (whatever comes first).

heh, what'* about those 2 option, ie, first

About killing it, do I really need it, ie does it control every warning light or it'* just the stupid bell that no one need? If it'* totally useless, how would I d/c it?

About fixing it, any price tags? If this garbage cost 1000$ heh that wouldn't be funny at all? Is it worth fixing? :/

Also, any idea on how I could test? I just looked carefully at the manuals I had, and all light that should have lighted on car startup goes fine... Every indicator look correct on my dash, the only frigging problem is that darn ringing bell...

Thanks
Eric

Oh yea, while I'm thinking about this, I made more test to find some correlation and when I press brake, it does it during like 2 time and the the bell completly stop... It only start back when I start moving again...

First option would be find the speaker wire & cut it! It'* just an audible module that'* acting up. I'll see if I can come with a scematic or something to disarm it for good.

EVIL

Excellent, if that'* just the damn audible module that started acting up, I'll indeed cut that small wire But I don't have the repair shop manual (yet, got outbidded on ebay :/ )

So if you could get up with a schema like you sayd, that would just be awesome

Awesome

You can reach me at kad@step.polymtl.ca there should be plenty of space up to 15 mb for that file, hope that it'* enought or I can just get some more space somewhere...

Wow thanks alot

Also, you have any clues if it could be anything else? Ie if I cut that wire and that module was in fact trying to alert me of a real problem? I mean, other than a buggy module there are no reason that it would start ringing every 5 sec.. Or it would be written on the owner'* manual I think... And I almost reread that entire book hehe
