Default 95 Bonnie fire or fuel...I say fuel

New 2 the board here....

I have a 95 bonnie that had a constant miss I think...I think rather than firing problem it may be fuel...I can hold the accelerator to the floor in park and the rpm'* go up to 3500 and drop repeatedly like I was racing motor with my foot over and over....Fuel pump going out or clogged fuel filter?

BTW, what would the injectors act like if I had water in my fuel? I had a problem with my chopper which was water in fuel related...Bought gas at the same store....Ran the tank on bonnie nearly empty yesterday before I filled up at another store, then the problem started soon after...I think I may have stirred up the water since it settles to the bottom... :?

How does the car perform when you're driving it? If the RPMs only go to 3500 in park, the you're simply hitting the rev limiter. You should never free-rev the car like that. It'* the worst thing you can do to it. In my opinion, the rev limiter should be set at 2000 RPMs.

Rev limiter. It works that way in park and neutral.

And as stated also, that'* one of the worst things you can do to that motor.

Default hmm

Didn't know they had rev limiters...ANYWAY,
It misses at idle and when on the gas....The entire car shakes even when idling...Sometimes when starting it will stumble and the ses and traction control lights come on...Even before this started.....Havent pulled codes yet...Weird though, from one starting to the next( a span of 30 minutes) it started....

Oh, I can smell something like a match being blown out when I get out of the car after driving....Cat converter?? Never smelled this B4..Only after this problem started....

Default update

OK, went to autozone and you are correct...They can't read it...I did disconnect the hot cable from battery and reconnect it....BTW, car alarms will freak out most dogs! haha....
I guess resetting the ecm corrected the issue but probably didn't fix anything....I'm sure it will come back...

Also I found a toggle switch under the dash in front of the fuse block...I turned it off and fired motor up and came home...Well, my theft alarm went off all the way home....People will stare at you when this is happening :? I flipped switch back and started motor and no alarm....And ideas?

That'* your alarm by pass switch. I've never tried driving with it in the by-pass mode, but it sounds like it just goes off if you drive the car with it on the "other" position! LOL
