When you turn it off, you should get a yellow warning light on the dash that says Traction.

If not, it'* damn hard to tell one way or the other. It'* possible the system failed on a previous owner, and they took out the warning lamp that was annoying them.

Traction control isnt a major necessity, Ive drove cars without, and all u need to do is be light on the throttle..my old bonnevilles didnt work, heavy enough car though, it did fine.
