Tie-rod ends?

What exactly are they supposed to look like?

When I was looking about the squeeky brake I think I saw it. If I was looking at the right thing it looked like it was not right. I think it's supposed to be straight up and down, but what I was looking at looked like it was bent/broke. It was leaning back towards the rear of the car. I moved it back straight by hand with no problem.

Also I think that I could use new swaybar bushings, then were kinda smuched out the ends.

The (outer) tie rod end is a piece about ten inches long with threads on one end and a ball joint with a tapered post on the other. The tapered post fits into the knuckle, to which is also attached the hub and wheel. The threaded end screws into the tie rod which comes out of the steering rack and moves right and left across the car when you turn the steering wheel.

Have someone turn the wheel while you watch. It is pretty easy to figure out what does what that way.

Sway bar end link bushings typically look squashed even when they are new. If they are loose or rattle, they need to be changed. Use the search feature to read about higher quality urethane replacements.
