Default A sirpeten belt question.

I just put on a new water pump and now having a problem w/my belt. Does it go around the crank - to the water pump then to the a/c ? or from crank to a/c ? I think I have it on right but it looks weird going straight from the crank to the a/c...please advise..... thanks

I don't know the exact differences off hand, but different engines do have different routings. Put the year and trim of your car in your sig so we know exactly what drivetrain you have.

EDIT: I figured it out, 95 SSE. Please put it in your sig

I'd need a pic of an L27 but I think it goes from the WP to the AC.

I would suggest looking in the owners manual. There should be a diagram showing the route.

I went by the owners manual... but it still doesn't look right. It stays on while running though... ??? My ac is kicking on and off...I charged it to 45* making a bad sound as if the bearings are going bad...

Or on a sticker under the hood..? I know some had them. I'm pretty sure my L27 had one.

I drew mine on the overflow tank for serpentine and how the */C belt is run.

Tamara'* 95 SE does the same with A/C where it cycles.. apparently its normal :?

A '95 SSE should have the L36 motor. Follow the routing in the manual (double-check if you have too) and you'll be fine.

Going counter-clockwise

Crankshaft
Across to A/C compressor
All the way up to alternator (long run, about 2 feet)
Down to P/* pump
Smooth side of belt goes around the water pump
Back to the crank

There'* a picture somewhere on the internet, but until I find it, that'll have to do.
