New O2 sensor
Im looking to get a new O2 installed sometime within the next couple of weeks and I need to know how much it costs to have it done at a Pontiac dealership. Hopefully less than $50 but if its a little more then thats ok. And also, the heatshield that goes around my exhaust pipe which goes over the tranny is split in two due to me trying to remove it a while back and Id like to know if they can remove that completely since I couldnt seem to wedge it out and if they will charge me a lot for that. Thanks!

Just go behind the engine and look at the manifold. See a wire going to the large piping extending from that manifold. Thats the O2 sensor. Super easy if you're NA.

As for picking one up, check the price at your local dealer, then go to GMpartsdirect.com and check their price. It'* the exact same part.

Worst case scenario:
1. Spray it with penetrating oil. Drive it. Spray it again when you get home before it cools off completely. Spray it again an hour later.
2. Wait overnight.
3. Unplug it.
4. Unscrew it with a crescent wrench.
5. Get the neosporin and a bandaid.
6. Install the new sensor and plug it in.
7. Drink beer.
