Does the TCC work like a circuit that opens when you first take off, Or am I wrong.....
The problem that I am having in my transmission is. Like when I leave to go to work in the morning, It does this crazy shift, like real fast through all 4 gears, and then smooths out. Stop at a red light, take off again, and everything is fine. Stop at another red light, take off and everything is fine.
It only seems to do it once, maybe twice.
I have had the transmission flushed, but did not get the filter changed. How does the transmission filter work....Does the fluid go up into it and then back out. Could this be my problem.
I took the TCC out tonight and everything looked to be ok with it. the plunger wasnt sticking. I dont have a ohm meter, and I have tried the driving it at 50 and putting my foot on the brake and cant seem to see if the rpms move at all. So I think I am going to borrow one from work and test it...... Or go ahead and just buy another one....Are they that costly.
Sorry for the long post, My 16 year old daughter is going to be driving it, and I guess I am just a picky dad, that wants everything right for her.

What your describing does not sound like a TCC problem. If the TCC switch was the problem the trans would move in and out of lock up at about 45mph and the RPM would move a few hundred. I would start with changing the filter.

X2....drop the pan and change the filter. if you find any big and meaty metal parts or flakes...the filter and fluid change will only buy you a short time.

Well, I am hoping not to find anything like that..... I would prefer to not put alot of money into it.....If I do find out that there is alot of meaty parts in the pan, Then I will probably post the car on here... But lets not think the worst.....

You can't put a shift kit in a 4t60 transmission.

How did you take a look at the TCC soleniod? That requires dropping the subframe and lowering that side of the motor enough to get the sidepan off.

On the 4T60 shift firmness etc is controlled by the vacuum modulator on the front of it. Have you checked/replaced that? It'* about a $12 part. Maybe the vacuum lines feeding it?

You technically can put a shift kit into a 4T60, it'* not like a 4T65 though. You have to tear it all down and install it (usually during a rebuild) on a 4T60

As far as the TCC solenoid goes, I looked up under the dash on the drivers side, where the brake pedal is. there is the brake light switch and the TCC, Is that wrong

There is a TCC brake input switch up under the dash.
The TCC soleniod is inside the transmission. That'* the one I assumed you were speaking about. My bad.
