Default Draining Radiator fluid and etc.

Since the front of the bonnie is bent inward, i need to straighten it back out in order to get my headlight housing to fit in correctly again. I'm just a noob with this kind of stuff, so I want to know the safest way to drain the coolant out, and get the radiator off so I can start wrenching at the support bar.

I got some pictures thinking maybe it'll help. Thanks for any advice.

Safest and best ways are to get a large catchpan.. on the driver side of the radiator is a valve to drain it from. Referred to as a petcock or draincock. You can also unhook the bottom hose on the passenger side.

Again..catching coolant. Animals are attracted to it and it will poison them if they drink it.

The petcock is plastic so if you have to put a pair of pliars on it to turn it, be real careful.

a little off topic, but judging from your pics, you got quite a bit of damage to your housing, your headlights will probably not...if ever fit correctly or aim properly without the damage being repaired on a frame rack. also cant forget to mention the compromised structural integrity of the front end if you were to be involved in a front end crash. i do realize it is a $500 car but just my 2 cents.....I've seen to many people injured because of shoddy repair jobs
