Shoot a lil penetrant down the cable guides from the tb and work the pedal a lil bit....Make sure the inside of the TB is clean. ESPECIALLY the butterfly plate.....It can sticck good if the plate is really grotey with carbon.

If it is the linkage that is the problem [and you have confirmed that], then it would be more effective to spray the Penetrating Oil on the TB end.. since gravity will pull it down. And yes, a lot of carbon build-up on the TB will make your pedal sticky.. mine was like that a little.. but it was only noticable on the TB linkage.. I guess my heavy foot outweighed the resistance.

It should only be a few nuts or bolts and unpluging a few sensors, and obviously removing the intake hose.

3 nuts, a new gasket, a lil coolant mess, and take off the air intake. Unplug the sensors.

Yes, but what'* the fun in that? lol

No wire brush, just disconnect the MAF sensor, start car, spray WD 40 in there a few times.. shut car off, take paper towel and wipe up as much carbon as you can. That'* what I did when my TB was stuck on [don't worry, you won't run into that problem.. it'* just because my car give me **** everytime I try to fix something].

REMOVE the MAF if you're gonna spray in there. Don't just disconnect it.
