Motor Mounts, an easy fix?
I'm unsire how motor mounts work. All I know is mine are bad.
What would be a cheap way to fix them?
Personally, I was thinking something stupid like buying a large heavy duty jaw clamp and clamping the motor mount or the area around it to hold the engine down, lmao.
What do you guys think would be good. Not looking for an expensive route, hopefully I don't have to.

mmm, I've done one on mine (the transaxle/motor front mount) and it was pretty easy and inexpensive. Get them at NAPA. Which ones are bad on yours?

When mounts go bad, misalignment of the engine and transmission with the drive axles and wheels can damage the transaxle and drive train components.
The only practical solution is to replace the bad mount with a new one. If you are really poor or cheap, you can get mounts really cheap at a junkyard. There is little call for them. Used mounts won't last as long as new ones.
You may have to lift the motor or transaxle with a jack to remove and install the replacement mount. Be careful where you put the jack and use wood blocks or plywood to spread the load when lifting on the oil pan of the engine or trans to avoid damage.
