Default 94 ssei, AC Compressor Cycles ON and OFF all the time.

94 bonneville ssei. AC Compressor cycles on and off all the time even with heat on and defrost is not. The worst is when it gets in to a mode and starts cycling every 2 seconds for 10-15 times then go back to cycling every 10 seconds. Freon level is good and AC blows out 55 degrees. Any suggestions of things to check is appreciated.
Thanks, Ross

Your outlet temperature in the car should be closer to 40 degrees. It sounds like you ARE low on freon OR the orifice tube is clogged with debris. It is in the AC line just before the evaporator. It controls the freon release into the evaporator and if it is clogged the pressure will drop too fast and the pressure cycling switch will turn off the compressor. Then pressure rises and compressor back on for a few seconds. Then pressure too low and it repeats. Hope this helps. Probably going to have to go to an AC shop to recycle the freon and then inspect the orifice tube. BTW the debris is usually from a failing compressor. Good luck to you.

If I hit the off button it will go off and not cycle. If it is on 80 Deg. pointing at the floor the compressor will be cycling.

Ok My initial readings were a little off of course it was a lot warmer outside then also. I checked my outlet air temp last night and it went down to about 36 Deg. F.
