No interior lights, bell rings with dr side door open w/o key
'96 Pontiac Bonneville V6 3500
I was wiring a switch to my blower motor, had a wire coming from the fuse box, was in a hurry, not thinking I shoved the hot wire up under the paneling under the steering wheel to get it out of the way. It hit some metal up in there, sparks flew and there was a little smoke. Now the bell on the door rings with the door open, even with no key, and I have no internal lights, dome lights or dash. I checked the fuse for the dome lights and its fine. Any ideas what may have happened?

May wish to check the fuse for the park lights. I believe that can cause that also. Had the same symptoms when there was a short in a license plate light that popped fuses.
EDIT: If the pop was big enough, might not be a bad idea to double check the Maxi-fuses on the firewall also.
