Default stumble on take off

I have an intermittent problem with my 99 SLE. It seems worse when its hot, but the car doesn't hesitate, but rather when you hit the throttle for a normal take off from a light the car just doesn't respond, the engine wants to accelerate but not much, if you go full throttle, then it hauls butt. Any ideas?

How many miles are on it? I actually would go so far as to blame the catalytic converter being stuffed up, but I also recommend doing a spark plug change, plug wire change, and checking the air filter and the coils to see if there'* anything to be done there.

You can also check your TPS, and maybe clean your MAF sensor with carb cleaner.

Cool guys, I'll try a TPS and clean the MAF, those are quick and simple. I dont think a plugged cat would do this as this car hauls butt down the highway, and will go as fast as you want it too, this hesitation is a low speed take of kind of thing.

That is reasonable. I was just thinking that since I'm having cat problems myself. Good luck, and I hope it'* an easy fix!

Oh and the car has 112,000. I bought the car in February with 92K. Mechanically a sound car just some minor issues, but I do think inside the car is very cheap, many things falling off, the pull handles above the doors are not to be used as they pull out and break, the shifter button, cover has come off and sucked itself inside the shifter, lol, the New Mexico heat doesnt help things.

For the shifter button cover, you can actually pull that out and down, and it will cover the button once more. Also, you can completely remove it since the shifter **** is a leather-covered Grand Am part, and basically you're not going to be pushing the shift button outside of its intended wear level.

The interior can be fixed up pretty nicely, so if you're into that, you could look into what others have done and order some parts from those who have spares. I enjoy my Bonnevilles, mainly the SLO now that the STEi is taken apart, but I'm sure that the New Mexico heat, as you said, does quit a number on the interior. I don't have as many issues at nearly 190K miles, but mine was driven by an old lady up until 100K and kept in a garage the whole time.

Cool, thanks for the tips, I am new to navigating artound here and would love to see some interiors of other guys cars here, I want to keep it pretty much stock looking and factory but alot of the parts are discontinued from GM. Randomir, looks like you also have dark cherry car, very nice. Also what is a SLO?

A(n) SLO is a(n) SLE with future plans or completed plans of getting duplicate badges, cutting out the two extra E letters, removing all four Es' center sticks, and combining the E letters to make O letters. Please view: The Plan
