well this is fun. last week i did a filter change on the van and added like 7 quarts of fluid.

it drove wonderful for a week, but yesterday out at the track it completly gave out on me.

in drive and overdrive it completly freewheels like it'* in neutral. in (2) it will move but it seems to slip a bit. in (1) it drives just fine. i also have reverse with no problems.

help me out here if you will. am i looking at a new tranny? a new valve body? shift kit? actuators? buy a new car? anything you can tell me will help.

i don't know. do you know of any cheap bonnies for sale in the area?

i'm just looking at fixing a trasmission and then still having a long list of things to fix afterwards... it might just be easier to sell it and start anew.

Do you have access to a scantool to see if your solenoids are kicking in and out?

Also, when you changed the filter...did the new one fit really snug or just so-so?

Losing 4th sounds like it is the start of the death cycle for alot of 4t60Es. After tearing apart my core, I could see why too. But losing 3rd and 2nd at the same time...and after a hard run...I bet you shattered your reaction drum and you're "internally bleeding". Either that, or you plugged your valve body up with crud, which is also possible since you put fresh fluid in not too long ago, and that fluid is washing alot of buildup out of the parts.

No matter what, it'* time to drop the tranny. Or drop the 'buster off at the u-pull-it.
