Here'* the sound it was making. You'll hear it as a clanking sound at higher revs.

What'* an exhaust tick? That'* the sound that its been making this whole time. Its just that clank that you hear when it revs higher and its not very repetitive.

It'* a sharp tick, and can sound like a valve tick. But it'* not there all the time. Tends to show up under some load. I have a slight tick on my car. Nothing really at idle, a rather annoying tick under load, and nothing under heavy load.

So how does one get an exhaust tick? I'm not really sure what it is, but I imagine if it was serious, you would have heard it in that video. I'll try to get a video from farther away from the engine so you might be able to distinguish sounds better.

I just went back, and you can hear it the most between 0:20 and 0:24, and right at 0:31 at the peak of that rev.

Generally from the flex pipe. How does the flex pipe look? One way to know is to wrap the flex pipe with header wrap. It'* cheep and easy to do and will quiet it down.

Sounds more like its coming from the engine, but I can't tell for sure. The flex pipe? Could you define on what the flex pipe is exactly? Check my last post btw.

The tick I'm hearing sounds like a exhaust tick. Look on the back of the engine. There'* a pipe that goes from the rear exhaust manifold and connects to the cat. That down pipe is a flex pipe. There'* a pipe inside that pipe and allows movement. If that'* rusted out, you will get a tick.

Hmm, I'm not really sure in that case. I never even knew I had a flex pipe down there. To me everything looks like its welded solid from the exhaust flange that the rear manifold bolts to all the way to the cat, but I could be wrong. It does look like there'* another pipe before that. I can't imagine that would be easy to replace. It is the original that the car came with. I'll get another video soon.
