Default 1993 Rear Struts

For those of you looking to replace your rear struts, I'd suggest purchasing the units that come fully assembled and ready to install. I used the ones that required you to install the urethane bumper, retainer ring, boot and zip tie along with the original mounting hardware. After removing the original strut and dis-assembling it and laying out the parts in order of removal, when it came time to re-assemble the new one, the urethane bumper would not install without having to ream out the hole so it would sit flush with the large metal grommet that sits on top of the strut shaft which allows the top nut to fit on. I thought I had screwed up in the dis-assembly and layout of the parts and actually had to remove the 2nd strut and check the dis-assembly procedure. That'* when I discovered the urethane bumper is not made correctly. These were the NAPA Response units.

Another warning, be sure to get quality parts.

I replaced my rears with Gabriel quick struts, and while the struts still seem to be okay, one of the mounts was rattling already within a year or two. I cheaped out, and it shows.
