gas cap
every time I take it off I get this soud that is like a woosh of air and today a cloud of what ooked like gas fumes cam out after a hard drive.
is this normal?

is the woosh of air you air filter sucking in air? ill have to hear this sound next time we hang. i havent noticed it yet.

There shouldn't be any equalization of pressure, there is no differential pressure to start with. Something doesn't appear to be right.

I suggest you trace the vacuum line from the evap canister to the fuel tank for more breaks or a disconnection. On cars our age, these lines very commonly crack or split from age.
Normally though, as suggested by markwb, a break in a vac line would result in a code light.

As Mark said, the tank should not be pressurized. only the fuel line is pressurized.
I would look to the venting system and wonder. Do you overfill your tank? Fuel in the evap lines and canister might lead to this type of condition.
