Default Trunk release sound

Anyone else'* trunk release go "eeeh ewwww", if you know what I mean? It'* kinda loud. Would a lube job help? It always works, and doesn't make any sound that would make me think it'* weak. It'* done it since I've had it. Just kinda loud.

Lube job. On the solonoid and the latch mechanism.

Mine makes a grinding noise, and doesn't release, so I'm guessing something is majorly messed up. Haven't checked it out, but will have to soon. I hate working overhead with the trunk lid. I'm scared of giving myself a broken nose if I lose my balance, as I'm prone to do

I'll probably turnaround and sit in the trunk with my legs hanging out to do this.

I tore into the stupid plastic mechanism, and I see how it works... or fails to work, either way. I still don't understand why it makes a grinding noise, though. Hmm. They really don't want you to tear these plastic things apart. Was a son of a gun to crack open. I figured I might as well waste the time doing that and trying to make it work. I was planning on getting a new one, anyway. For now, duct tape holding together a grinding noise! Woowoo.

The things we do for amusement

Mine is more of a Duh-Uh. The 'Uh' depends on how long you hold the release button. Mine works everytime. I don't like using the key, because it is more of a "Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't" ordeal. Not sure why.. but it is certainly annoying.

Works every time. Sounds like it should. Not disturbing the parts that work well.
