Default steering column

Wow its been a long time since Ive posted here. Anyway, I had to get my steering column replaced cause apparently some pin bent or w/e, anyway now the steering wheel moves diagonally and the guy told me he called some places and "found out that the 94 Bonneville'* are notorious for having problems like that in the steering wheel", is this true or is this ******* trying to f*ck me over?

The steering column has four mounting points...two near the collar of the column, and two near where the floorboard goes vertical. It'* shifting horizontally because the bolts aren't tightened up.

(I know this because it is fresh in my memory from stripping down my car)
