warped rotors is a very good possibilty. You put on tires, did they check rotors/pads.

Welcome, and please put year, model, trim in sig.

Thanks for your reply! front pads almost shot, rotors look to be original. Should I start with replacing front brakes or wheel bearings.

At the very minimum, I'd get new rotors & pads up front, rear shoes & drums might need replacement at 140K. then see how things are from there. You would hear hub assemblies (wheel bearings) sing when they begin to fail.

I put on alot of miles, I like ceramic pads. I never have a brake dust problem on the rims and they last abit longer than regular. I get most my parts from NAPA or AutoValue, because that'* all that available out here and I end up doing stuff on the spur of the moment or brake downs, so I just go with whats available.

OK, Went to Advance Auto Parts 2-Rotors @23.97 each, Semi-metallic front pads @36.00 for the set. Installed them Sunday afternoon. Still have some vibration around 45mph or when braking. My neighbor has the A '97 SSEI w/ 70,000 miles on it. I had him drive it he thinks it might be the axle shafts. Anybody have any idea'* on what to look for next?
Thanks!

Gator...let me welcome you to the 1997 SSEi with 14X on it.

Jack the car up..put your hands at 3 and 9 on the wheel...wiggle and look for any play. Then got to 12 and 6 same thing. Anything?

And where are you located? Maybe we have a member nearby that can help.

I would look at motor mounts. When on the gas you are keeping tension on the drive train, when rolling you the drivetrain cam move about the cabin.
